CAROLINE alias Carol Kamble, a resident of Thane city, has demanded the registration of an FIR against Binu Varghese alias “Kala Kauwa” (Black Crow), alleging that he unlawfully entered her house by claiming to be an aide of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
According to the complaint, Varghese introduced himself as a representative of Deputy CM Shinde and gained entry into Kamble’s residence. She has alleged that he offered her a bribe, secretly recorded her, her home, and her family using hidden cameras, and attempted to influence her in a matter related to her husband, Ganesh Kamble.
Caroline Kamble submitted a written complaint on February 1, 2026, to the Commissioner of Police, the Deputy Commissioner of Police, and the Kalwa Police Station, seeking registration of an FIR against Varghese. A copy of the complaint is available with ABI (abinewz.com).
Ganesh Mallikarjun Kamble, Caroline Kamble’s husband, was elected as a corporator from Ward 9A in Kalwa on a Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) ticket. The complaint states that Ganesh Kamble has two wives and three children and is therefore legally ineligible to contest elections. It further alleges that serious criminal cases are registered against him, which were not disclosed in his nomination form. Based on these grounds, Caroline Kamble has approached the concerned authorities seeking cancellation of his corporator post and registration of an FIR for allegedly misleading the Election Commission. She has also indicated that she will file a writ petition in the Bombay High Court in this matter.
Caroline Kamble stated that after her complaint became public, several social media journalists published interviews with her. Around the same time, she received a call from Varghese. As they belong to the same community, she was somewhat familiar with him but ignored the call, stating in her complaint that Varghese is known in Thane as an extortionist and blackmailer. She alleged that Varghese then claimed he had a message from Deputy CM Eknath Shinde and insisted on meeting her, even asking her to come to his private office, which she refused.
The following day, Varghese allegedly arrived at her residence, again claiming he had been sent by the Deputy CM’s office. Trusting his claim, Kamble allowed him inside the house. Once seated, he allegedly asked for “hard coffee” and began discussing Ganesh Kamble’s news coverage on social media. He reportedly suggested that she stop pursuing complaints in exchange for money, claiming that once Ganesh Kamble became mayor, he would earn ₹200–300 crore, from which she would also receive a substantial amount. Varghese allegedly pressured her to refrain from filing a writ petition for two months and later file a different petition instead.
Kamble further alleged that while serving coffee, she noticed Varghese was wearing a button camera and recording the conversation. Later, her children informed her that while she was in the kitchen, Varghese was recording the entire house and the children using his mobile phone.
Stating that she rejected the offer to “stay silent for money,” Caroline Kamble said the incident left her deeply distressed and unable to sleep. Upon further inquiry, she claimed to have learned that Varghese is allegedly known as a “social media mafia,” police middleman, top extortionist, and blackmailer in the city. Fearing for her safety and any potential untoward incident, she has demanded strict legal action and registration of an FIR against him.
